Nothing will get better here until this generation of pensioners dies. We put our money away for our futures, and then boom! suddenly 5,000 rubles was worth 50 rubles. There is no money to take care of us.Gorbachev tricked everybody. He said, "We will have perestroika," but he didn't say what kind of perestroika. Everybody just said "Yes!" because for 70 years they were taught to say yes to everything. Nobody could ever think for themselves.
If the elections were held today, I would vote for Zhirinovsky. And so would a lot of other people in this city. He would destroy the current system from the ground up, and that's what we need. It doesn't matter what comes after that, we just need to destroy what there is now.
Look at Japan and Germany. Their systems got destroyed at the end of the war. They started building again from nothing, and now look! They are the richest countries in the world. They were the enemies, the bad guys, and now they live better than anyone. And what have we got here, what have the victors got to show?
